The York University Faculty Association is the professional association and certified bargaining agent for approximately 1,650 faculty, librarians and archivists, and post-doctoral visitors at York University.
YUFA is organized around an Executive Committee, elected by the membership, and a Stewards’ Council, elected by academic units and thematic caucuses. The Association’s work is conducted by a professional staff, and by members’ participation in a variety of committees within the Association and across the University.
YUFA is affiliated to the Canadian Association of University Teachers, the National Union of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (and, through it, the Canadian Labour Congress), the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations, the Ontario Federation of Labour, and the Toronto & York Region Labour Council.
